1. Spend an Evening at a Korean Baseball Game

One of our favourite family experiences in Korea was heading to a professional baseball game at Jamsil Stadium in Seoul. We turned up just as the game was starting on a Friday night and were able to buy tickets on the home side without any issues. The atmosphere was incredible. Think singing, cheering, music, and thousands of passionate fans having the best time.

What surprised us most was how family-friendly it was. There were so many families with young kids, plenty of food options both inside and outside the stadium, and lots happening to keep everyone entertained, even if you're not a huge baseball fan. Tickets were also really affordable at only $10 Aud for adults and $5 for kids, making it one of the best-value family experiences we had in Korea.

2. Take the Train to Busan

If you're visiting Korea with kids, make time for Busan. Just two hours from Seoul on the KTX (which is worth booking in advance), Busan has a completely different feel. It's relaxed, colourful, coastal, and incredibly family-friendly.

Some of our favourite experiences were wandering through the colourful streets of Gamcheon Cultural Village, exploring the National Science Museum, the colourful Blueline sky capsules and spending time at Haeundae Beach. What we loved most was the mix of family friendly experiences. You can spend the morning exploring culture, the afternoon by the ocean, and still find plenty of green spaces and nature in between. Busan felt bright, welcoming, relaxed and easy to explore as a family.

3. Embrace Your Inner Child at LEGOLAND Korea Resort

LEGOLAND Korea Resort, located in Chuncheon about an hour from Seoul, was one of those places where the adults had just as much fun as the kids. We went thinking it was all about the children, but before long my husband and I were studying the map, planning our ride order, and getting excited every time we spotted another LEGO character or themed attraction.

One of the biggest highlights was visiting on a weekday. We barely waited more than three minutes for any ride, which made the whole experience so much more enjoyable and far less stressful than many other theme parks. Our toddler was able to enjoy plenty of the attractions, making it a fantastic option for families with younger kids.

The fun doesn't stop when the park closes either. The LEGOLAND Hotel is an experience in itself, with themed rooms, a huge indoor playground, water play areas, and a family-friendly buffet breakfast. And while LEGOLAND is the main drawcard, the surrounding Chuncheon region completely won us over. Surrounded by mountains and beautiful scenery, it's a part of Korea we'd love to come back and explore properly next time.

Our first family trip to South Korea completely exceeded our expectations. We fell in love with the people, the food, the nature, and the family-friendly experiences. Before we'd even left, we were already planning our return trip to explore more of this incredible country.
